Mobility is not one interface. A journey may move through search, booking, finance, pickup, driving, navigation, charging, support, maintenance and recovery. Drivers, passengers, fleet teams, dealers, technicians and transport staff can experience the same system very differently.

UX Pacific studies these connected moments in realistic contexts. We help teams understand behaviour, reduce avoidable friction and make evidence-based decisions across vehicle controls, apps, platforms, services, spaces and operational tools.

Decisions our research supports

What do people need from the journey?

Understand behaviours, expectations, workarounds and unmet needs before committing to a solution.

Can people use the experience correctly?

Evaluate critical tasks across interfaces, devices, environments and handoffs.

Where does trust break down?

Find uncertainty around cost, range, availability, identity, data, assistance and recovery.

What should improve first?

Prioritize changes by user impact, journey criticality, frequency and operational dependency.

Experience areas we study

  • Discovery, comparison, configuration, finance, purchase and delivery
  • In-vehicle HMI, controls, displays, voice and companion apps
  • EV charging, route planning, range, payment and station experience
  • Booking, ticketing, pickup, boarding, transfers, support and recovery

People and contexts we include

  • Drivers, owners, passengers, riders and prospective customers
  • Dealers, technicians, support teams, transport staff and partners
  • Fleet managers, dispatchers, depot teams and professional drivers
  • Vehicles, homes, dealerships, stations, depots and live journeys

How we design the research

01

Define the decision

Clarify the journey, users, environment, product stage and business decision the evidence must support.

02

Map the ecosystem

Connect vehicle, app, service, physical touchpoints, operations and responsible teams.

03

Recruit by real behaviour

Select relevant users by role, mobility pattern, ownership, vehicle, route, technology and experience.

04

Research in context

Observe realistic tasks in suitable controlled or real environments without creating avoidable risk.

05

Connect the evidence

Trace friction across channels, handoffs, actors and operational causes instead of isolating one screen.

06

Prioritize action

Separate experience improvements, service changes, technical dependencies and questions for specialist validation.

Methods matched to mobility context

Studies may combine contextual inquiry, ride-alongs where appropriate, interviews, diary studies, journey mapping, usability testing, concept or prototype testing, field intercepts, surveys, service observation and analytics review.

We choose methods based on the decision, users, product maturity, environment and practical constraints rather than forcing every problem into a lab test.

From local journeys to global platforms

Mobility expectations can change by market because of infrastructure, road behaviour, transport networks, regulation, payment norms, climate, language and service availability.

For multi-market programmes, we use a shared framework while preserving the context needed to explain genuine local differences.

What your team receives

  • Experience evidence: observed behaviours, needs, barriers, workarounds and supporting context.
  • Journey and ecosystem view: touchpoints, handoffs, actors, dependencies and breakdowns.
  • Prioritized findings: affected users, journey stage, impact, confidence and likely cause.
  • Decision guidance: recommendations for product, interface, service, operations and further validation.
  • Stakeholder readout: clear evidence and implications for design, engineering, service and leadership teams.

Research planned around safety and responsibility

Mobility research may involve distraction, movement, public spaces, personal data and vulnerable participants. We plan appropriate environments, task boundaries, consent, privacy, field monitoring and stop conditions around the study and its context.

UX research identifies experience evidence; it does not replace human-factors engineering, functional safety assessment, road testing, security review, accessibility evaluation, legal advice or regulatory approval where those are required. Reports make methods and limitations visible.
